Reaching out to our ideal audience and getting noticed is one of our priorities when running a small business.

Being able to attract our target audience will not only help by serving and connecting with the right community, it will also maximize your marketing efforts without breaking the bank.

It is advisable to cater to a specific niche and target audience.  This is how you will best develop a connection between the services and product you offer and your ideal customer base. In addition, make the effort to understand how we can get them to take interest in your unique brand and approach.

1. Define your ideal client

Think and define…

  • Who is your ideal client? What is the common story that they share?
  • What problems do they want to solve?
  • What is the gender, age range, characteristics of your client?
  • What does she think? How does she feel?
  • Where does she live? Is she single? Married? Does she have kids?
  • What are her beliefs? What’s important to her?

The secret to attracting as opposed to hunting your ideal client is to understand what makes her tick and what compels her to look for someone like you.

This is the essence of attraction and how we can attract ideal customers.

For example, if you own a gluten free bakery and you know that your niche target audience is looking for gluten free cupcakes for kids, start researching on places, websites and social media accounts that discusses topics related to gluten-free product or even those related to her lifestyle.

For example, gluten free recipes, healthy lifestyle, healthy kids, other gluten free brands, conscious brands for kids, gluten free birthday parties, etc.

2. Create a lead magnet

Create a valuable free guide or lead magnet you can send to new subscribers when they sign up to your email list.

Maybe it’s a pdf guide, cheat sheet or template. The content that you offer for free should solve a problem/focus on the needs of your target audience and should also be relevant to your service.

Once subscribers are on your list, you can create periodic communications to engage, captivate and motivate them as well as build your relationship with them.

3. Be a guest on a podcast

Do some research and detect where you can share tips and news specific to your ideal audience. This is a great way to get your name out there and promote your products or services. It is also a good strategy to raise your visibility and attract your tribe.

4. Collaborate with like-minded brands

Collaborate with other brands and create a unique offer together such as a giveaway, contest, course, event or product bundle. The great thing about this is that you can cross-promote your brands to your respective audiences.

It is also a good way to boost your brand by teaming up with other well-respected female entrepreneurs and becoming visible to new audiences.
